The salt marshes Boundary Bay, BC provide photographers opportunities for capturing wintering owls. I was leaving for the day when I noticed a Short-eared Owl out of the corner of my eye behind me. I turned around and quickly grabbed a shot but another photographer was also in the frame. The compression of the lens makes the owl look closer than reality but it is unfortunately aware of the photographer.
