Photographs may be entered into the six categories described below:

1. Up Close: Macrophotography of any living thing.
2. Animals in Action: Capturing native animals in action.
3. Birds: Any wild bird photographed in Canada including sea ducks, waders, raptors and songbirds.
4. Urban Wildlife: Native plants or wild animals found in an urban setting.
5. Plants and Trees: Native plants, trees or flowers in their natural habitat.
6. Interaction: Any animal interacting with another — within the same species, cross-species or animal to human interaction.
