A portrait of an interesting shorebird (ruddy turnstone), using its short and bulky beak to turn stones rather than prone the mud or sand to look for prey. On this particular evening, I got to spend a few hours with a group of around 30 of these birds while laying on my stomach. While my neck wa hurting a lot from that position, I got to snap a few up close shots like this one in a beautiful soft light while the sun was setting.
