Artwork For Animals is an ongoing project that introduces sculpture to the wilderness of Northern Saskatchewan. The project utilizes motion-activated trail cameras, typically utilized by hunters, to document wild animals interacting with the sculptural work. It is my hope that using wild animals as a metaphorical stand-in for human-nature will work towards breaking down the Cartesian dichotomy of human vs. animal. Rather than elevate the animal to the status of human being though, this project aims to diminish the egocentric nature of contemporary art and human culture.
