With hungry chicks in the nest, great blue heron parents have a tag-team system for keeping them well fed. As soon as an adult returns to feed the chicks, the other flies off to hunt for more. Sometimes there isn't much real estate for both adults and the growing family, and these large birds have to take advantage of any nearby branches to clasp onto. This created an active Great Blue Heron tower!
