This first-day Barred Owlet fledgling was climbing various stumps and branches to get off the forest floor, shortly after falling from the nest. Both parents were in nearby trees with its two siblings, giving calls of encouragement. Here, the owlet had climbed to the top of a dead stump, as it scanned the forest's ne foliage for opportunities to get higher.
