In the summer of 2020, we had the good fortune to have a pair of Piping Plovers nest on a nearby beach. Since they're endangered, their site was quickly protected by the authorities so they would not be disturbed. As a local, I was able to follow their progress and capture images of them from outside the protected area. In due course, four chicks hatched and busied themselves feeding along the shoreline. This one stopped long enough for me to get a few shots before he scurried off.
