This year has been an unusual one for me. The past few years I was able to travel across Canada to pursue my wildlife photography goals. This year apart from 3 short trips to Algonquin Park my shooting has been done on my property in Niagara. There are stories to go with most pictures I take but this year the days have blurred into one another. Walking my trails daily I spent much time photographing and observing insects and snails. Some days I was blessed with dew, others the most wonderful light. Each encounter helped me practice my macro skills. A gruesome scene to document unfolded one day explaining clearly why none of my monarch caterpillars ever seemed to form a chrysalis. Clearly this predator had been at work for weeks. While documenting this wolf spider eating I could not help noticing the orb spider close by?
