This year has been an unusual one for me. The past few years I was able to travel across Canada to pursue my wildlife photography goals. This year apart from 3 short trips to Algonquin Park my shooting has been done on my property in Niagara. There are stories to go with most pictures I take but this year the days have blurred into one another. I call my birds my jewels. They are a photographer’s treasure when there are no prospects for travel. These jewels live in my yard and have helped me hone my photograph skills this year when travel was out of the question. I have a male cardinal that I call Phil, because like my friends electric drummer, Phil drums on my windows to get my attention when I have forgotten to fill the feeders, or when he want a treat. While I was capturing images of Phil he had a visitor. At first I thought it was just some sort of weird reflection.
