Spirit

This year has been an unusual one for me. The past few years I was able to travel across Canada to pursue my wildlife photography goals. This year apart from 3 short trips to Algonquin Park my shooting has been done on my property in Niagara. There are stories to go with most pictures I take but this year the days have blurred into one another. Not getting out to shoot I spent a lot of time trying to keep my skills up taking pictures of my local characters, an array of chipmunks, as well as gray and red squirrels; these creatures have filled my days with many ours of amusement. This little guy is Spirit. This blondie showed up and made it's way through the hierarchy until it was living in prime real estate- the tree outside my bedroom window. Spirit was very shy and to get any pictures I had to take the screen out of my window, stand on the bed and remain quiet. LOL It has been a long year without travel. I am not afraid of a challenge. Unfortunately I have not seen Spirit in months. His light colour was no camouflage in the yard, I fear he was picked off by one of the hawks.
