A bald eagle landed on the ice of an irrigation pond on the Tower Ranch golf course, He appeared to be enthralled with either a pebble on the ice or could see a fish under or trapped in the ice. He scratched at the object but then moved to a different spot but cautiously, unsure with his footing, I managed to capture the moment with his wings raised for balance and his talons visibly trying to grip the ice surface (shards of ice breaking off are visible). The expression and intensity of his eyes and head is what captivated me. Truly, I was in the right place at the right time.
