While driving down Highway 17 near Petawawa Ontario, my wife spotted this Upland Sandpiper standing guard on the fence post over his nest. We pulled over safely, and he remained on guard duty long enough for us to get some good shots. He called out with his wolf whistle and wasn't deterred as it began to rain. We gave up before he did.
