Churchill Manitoba was an amazing place and archived pictures are lovely to revisit. The landscapes so different from my local area. The Precambrian shield hosts sparse groups of white and black spruce stands- branches only on the leeward side. The weather the wind on the open land form the trees. This effect is known as Krumholz. The sand dunes along Hudson Bay host horsetails, as well as grasses, sedges alongside creeping arctic willow shrubs, I was lucky to capture both sets of vegetation in this shot.
