Old soul

Its always a surprise when you see an owl because they are usually well camouflaged and hidden. They also dont make any noise when flapping their wings which makes them hard to detect. This one was really close to me and it didnt seem to mind. I took a bunch of photos but this one is my favorite. This is a barred owl and I photographed it at the Technoparc ( DesSources Park or Marais DesSources ), near the Montreal Airport. Nature and wildlife enthousiasts are fighting to protect that area which is threatened by the construction of the new REM train. I think its important to protect our biodiversity and allow people to learn about nature. "What you know, you protect ..."
