Spring time in Nanoose Bay brings a fantastic bloom of plankton with the increased sunlight. This is not the best for visibility when diving, but it also brings along some very cool animals that feed on the plankton bloom. One such critter is this jellyfish, a red-eyed medusa, so- called because it uses red eyespots around its bell to orient itself in the water column. It is mesmerizing spending the time with these little animals to watch them dance in the water column.
