The orca matriarch is named "Artemis" for the goddess of war and hunting, and the protector of women during childbirth. She is well suited to her name as she has five offspring. Lots of babies means lots of hunting in the orca world. On this day, Artemis and her family were socializing with another, and her son was attempting to mate with another female - this may explain her excitement! Female orcas are known to act as "wing-women" to their male offspring.
