After small flocks of tundra swans landed on the marsh, they appeared to be pairing off; choosing mates. This photos shows one of the swans chasing off a competitor. It was several hours of turmoil and water exploding all around; an exhilarating morning.
Hearing a commotion, I looked up to see this Osprey trying to hold its ground; the branch of the tree, while being attacked by a crow. Apparently, the crow's nest was nearby and the raptor too close for comfort.
After feeding, this Tundra Swan raised itself onto the ice and stood on one foot, ready to pirouette. It's as if we could both hear the echoes of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake playing softly over the lake.
While driving the back roads of the Kawartha Lakes, this magnificent cluster of golden, maple leaves caught my eye and the rays of the sun. I pulled over off the road to take this photo.
Captured this photo of the solitary polar bear; heading toward possible extinction, as it searched for late forming ice on Hudson Bay.
