Bear Hug

I was lucky to observe these cute grizzly cubs a few times in late spring/early summer. One cub is a bit darker while the other one is a lighter brown. They were so entertaining and playful. Mom was never far away. These two were running and rolling in the grass, chasing and hugging each other and play fighting. It's such a privilege to observe bears in nature. It always amazes me how playful these little guys are. They have so much energy. Photo taken from my vehicle window. One of a few shots were the tall grass was not in the way :)

Tumble

I was watching this grizzly cub (with its sibling and mom) having a great time enjoying some fall snowfall in the mountains. This cub was particularly enjoying the snow and kept rolling and tumbling around, even forming something like a snowball between its paws. I watched them from my car parked on the opposite side of the road.

Just Hanging

This cute little bear cub was hanging out in this lush green tree just on the side of the highway very close to our town. Its mom and sibling were also in the tree. Mom was busy eating twigs while the two little ones were snoozing for a while. The shot was taken just after it woke up and started moving around. I love the look on its face. Photo taken from my car window across the road watching from a distance. Parks Canada staff was also on scene to ensure these bears have the space to eat without interference and feel save to make their way down the tree. Which they did after a little while.

Dandelion Bliss

This cute golden mantled ground squirrel was busy picking dandelions and eating them delightfully. I sat in the grass for a while watching it run back and forth from the grassy patch to the rocky area by the river where it sat to enjoy its treat. They are just so adorable.

Salad Anyone?

I was watching this little pika for over an hour trying to get some nice shots. If you know pikas, you know that they move incredibly fast and you just press your shutter button and hope to get a sharp shot. This little critter was very busy collecting greens to bring them back to his house. I sat there watching it run back and forth collecting nest material for its house and got this shot as it posed for just a second on this rock before making its way.
