I was trying to photograph a nearby Black Swallowtail when I my attention was captured by this Silver-bordered Fritillary fluttering from flower to flower, pollinating as it went. While I lowered myself into position for a better angle I peered through my viewfinder and was struck by the detailed beauty and elegance of this tiny insect in front of me. Even though there were many other people enjoying swimming and fishing in the nearby lake, in that moment I was in my own separate world with this stunning butterfly. Despite everything going on in the world with the Covid19 pandemic, this small creature continued to just do its thing, flying from flower to flower, pollinating as it went.
