We were lucky enough to be stared right in the eyes by a polar bear cub in Churchill, Manitoba during their migration to the sea ice. This was an experience we had been dreaming about for literally years and it did not disappoint! We were in a 4WD with our experienced and local guide, Tiffany when this once in a lifetime interaction happened. A mother and two cubs were about 10 metres from our car when they started slowly walking over to the back of the truck. They sniffed the back tailgate and I popped my head out the sunroof to see what they were up to when one of them stood up at the back and made perfect eye contact for a split second. They then proceeded to stand outside the truck for a few minutes, just quietly observing us while we were VERY excitedly observing them from inside! This was a totally wild experience with the largest land carnivore that we will never forget!

Seeing the polar bears on their yearly migration to the shores of Hudson Bay has been a bucket list item for years. We finally got the amazing opportunity to see these magnificent creatures in the flesh! This Mom and her two cubs were hanging around the shores for a few days while we were in Churchill. Watching a beautiful, loving interaction like this just made our hearts melt. They are so obsessed with their mother and she feels the same. Watching them in the wild is nothing like seeing them in captivity and it's a something everyone should see once in their lifetime!
We were so incredibly lucky to spot this beautiful lynx while taking in the midnight sun on Little Atlin Lake, Yukon this summer. We were standing there, creating a campfire for dinner when we saw this little head pop out from behind the bushes, not even 2 metres away from us. The lynx stood there for a few seconds before moving around the other side of the bushes to get a better look at us. This shot gives me the best summer memories and reminds me of the special moments that the north provides in Canada.
