American Red Spotted Toad

I was down at my mom's house for the day doing the yardwork, and cleaning up the property. I ended the day with grass cutting, and just happened to notice this little critter jumping ahead of the lawn mower. I stopped the lawn mower and proceeded to see what it was. Low and behold it was this little American Red Spotted Toad - he was just a little fellow - no bigger than 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch big. He was mighty and full of hopping ability. I pulled out my camera and put on my Macro lens and proceeded to pictures. I had a fun time with this little fellow - hope to see him this year while doing my yardwork.

Swan - wing pump

I was driving along the waterfront in Belleville Ontario, and was taken by this larger than normal swan - I assumed it was the dominant male in the group. There was about 8 - 9 swans in the same location. I know for a fact after a swan has cleaned and pruned itself - they do a big wing pump. I stopped the car - got out, and proceeded to watch this swan go through the process of cleaning and pruning. I waited for about 25 minutes on the shoreline for this to happen - I was rewarded with a huge wing pump from this large male - patience was the key - just waiting for it to happen. it was beautiful.

Snowy owl

I have been waiting for the last 2 years to even get close to a Snowy Owl just to capture at least 1 quality picture. Just last week my friend informed me there was a snowy owl local - in the area - I could not go that day. The next day got up - did my morning routine - coffee - get dressed - grab camera's - out the door for the day. I decided to go to where my friend he had sited a snowy owl - low and behold - it was still there. I was so excited - I forgot what day it was - lol. I took a bunch of pictures - here is just one of those shots. I truly love the majestic flying ability the snowy owl.

Trillium's

I am a big fan of Ontario's national flower - I have taken thousands of pictures of Ontario's national flower - they are just awesome. I happened along a patch of trillium's about 15 years ago along a stream bed that I fish for Brooke Trout every year. I wandered into the bush off the beaten path and found this location along the stream - purple - white - pink - even yellow trilliums. I have found so many variations of this flower - it is just amazing how nature works. I wish I could show you them all - but for now here is a truly amazing photo of 3 perfect trilliums. All 3 trilliums were really close to each other - I had to bend the stalk of the white trillium to make this shot.

Dueling Turkey's

I was driving through a small residential town - actually my home town, and took a back road around the small village. I was amazed to have been confronted with a scene that I have always wanted to take pictures of - 2 male turkeys strutting their stuff to see who will win the harem of females waiting in the wing. It was truly amazing watching these 2 tom's dance around for at least 15 minutes until one of them walked away in defeat. It was awesome to watch.
