A golden dragonfly visiting my garden in the summer.
I love the delicate wings and interesting eyes of dragonflies. This one kept coming back to the same perch, which was great for me!
With colder, damp days, mushrooms start popping up again. I found this one in the forest.
This tiny owl, a Northern Pygmy-Owl, is quite the hunter. He/she stashed this vole in a tree for a later snack, then caught another one to eat. Being only 7 - 7.5 inches long and weighing 2.2 oz doesn’t stop this owl from catching prey more than twice his/her own weight.
A Northern Pygmy-Owl sits up in a tree and looks down below for a meal.
