I love the delicate wings and interesting eyes of dragonflies. This one kept coming back to the same perch, which was great for me!

The Hunter
This tiny owl, a Northern Pygmy-Owl, is quite the hunter. He/she stashed this vole in a tree for a later snack, then caught another one to eat. Being only 7 - 7.5 inches long and weighing 2.2 oz doesn’t stop this owl from catching prey more than twice his/her own weight.
Mother’s Embrace
Sometimes all that’s needed during hard times is a hug from your mom. This baby Columbian Ground Squirrel enjoys some snuggle time with mommy.
