Great Blue Heron

I had been following this bird as it arrived each day this summer to feed at nearby storm water treatment pond. I had been able to shoot quite a few decent shots over the summer. On this day, it allowed me to get quite close to it but I was only able to get several mundane shots. That is until it flew to a log at the centre of the pond (still fairly close) and after landing reached out its wings before settling down on its new perch.
