Bear

Taken on a very cold, rainy day in the spring. I saw this bear out of the corner of my eye as I was driving. There was only one direction the bear could go so I parked my car and waited a while. Luck was on my side as it came up the lake shore with a great reflection on the water in the background.

Foraging Pika

If you've ever had the opportunity to watch a Pika then you'll know that they forage and rest, forage and rest..... I've always wanted a Pika with foliage in its mouth, better yet with fall colours in the background.

Mountain Blue Bird

Ironically, I always see Mountain Blue Birds in prairie areas along the foothills of Alberta. This one was actually photographed in the mountains!

Snowy Owl in flight

It's usual for birds to fly away from you but not toward you. This Snowy Owl flew right over me to catch a vole on the other side of the road. It's always a challenge to photograph birds in flight so I'm very happy with this one.

Bowing Pika

After observing this Pika for a length of time I realized this was the preferred rock of the day. I have shots of this Pika sleeping and stretching but I liked this one the best.
