Captured while sitting under a camouflaged blanket in a field next to a forest. This Black-billed Cuckoo was a lifer for me. I knew he was in the area from hearing his call so I waited him out. They are normally very skittish so I decided I needed to hide.

I went into one of our fields early in June and waited for the Bunting to appear as I had seen him on a walk a few days earlier. I only waited 5 minutes before he appeared and he came quite close. There was a pair but the female stayed quite hidden.
This warbling vireo had a nest in a walnut tree alongside our driveway with 3 babies.
