Contrasting textures and monotone winter colours of a moose in an alpine meadow. Its very very rare to spot a moose in moose meadows so this was delightful

Driving along the Bow Valley Parkway from Johnston Canyon there is a scenic lookout that gazes out over the Bow River. While the Rockies generally get the glory of photos this simple river view with the serene colours of the Bow River and forest was captivating.
There are several gardens location at Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungalows. These Delphinium Flowers originally came from the shores of Lake Louise and as perennials attract bumble bees. This one scene was a beautiful instant caught with a single bee approaching the plant. The second image was a migrating monarch butterfly sharing a summer rest stop with a neighbourhood bee.
