Morning Groom, Merganser

The lock-down gave me the time to visit my local park on a daily basis. I like to go walk very early, before the sunrise. I became aware of the magic that happens when you are lucky enough to cross the path of a migrating bird. Through happenstance, we meet briefly, for only one moment in time and say Good Morning. (I love the feather still on her beak)

Mourning Doves

Never take the "common" for granted when walking in nature! Mourning Doves have stunning colour patterns and subtle hues of turquoise, greys and earth tones. Bathing in the sunlight of an early spring morning, and pre-occupied with each other, these two don't even know I am here.

Ducks That Dabble Together, Stay Together

During a very cold winter's snowfall at the local pond, this Gadwall pair is in perfect sync while dabbling for a snack. I never understand how they can survive such conditions.

Ready for Take-off

Not only do they fly, dive, and swim - they can walk on water too! Just another talent to list on the resumé for this Ring-billed Gull.

Morning Disagreement

Under the foot bridge, Barn Swallows build their nests and tirelessly fly and swoop to collect insects to feed their families. Looks like this pair was having a heated debate prior to departing for the morning hunt.
