White-Winged Crossbill

For those of you that don't know what this little beauty is it's a White-winged Crossbill. It's a beautiful little bird with the coolest beak, it's lower mandible crosses over to the left or right to allow for them to eat seeds more readily. A White-winged Crossbill can also eat up to 3,000 conifer seeds each day and lastly a large group of them are called a Crookedness or a Warp.

Long-eared Owl

2021 started off with a bang. Early on this month I was gifted the amazing opportunity of photographing a 'Lifer'- a Long-eared Owl. To find this beauty in the winter in a place that shouldn't normally be find this time of year was remarkable. I kept my distance and remained quiet, watchful and traditional of this beautiful creatures private space. I can only imagine how many people would have walked right beside this beauty and never have seen it. I likely will not ever see another of these beauties so I am so very thankful that I was able to spend time with and witness it in its natural habitat.

Great Grey Owl

I captured this beautiful bird in southern Manitoba a few weeks back for me this was a once in a lifetime experience. This bird is not commonly found here during the winter but we are having an unseasonably warm winter this year.
