"Showing Off The Orange Patch" by Debbie Oppermann. I was thrilled to spot not one but eight Golden Crowned Kinglets in my Larch, Tamarack, tree in early spring. They were feasting on the new buds of the tree. The Golden Crowned Kinglet, Regulus satrapa, is a very small songbird with a yellow and black crown and for the male a dash of orange on the crown.
