"What Do You Hear" by Debbie Oppermann. This immature American Goldfinch perched for some time on the clothes line and seemed to be listening either to me click or to something that had captured it's interest. The juvenile Goldfinches are quite beautiful in the subtle colors of buff and brownish black plumage. I find that the fact that the Goldfinch is one of the strictest vegetarians in the bird world quite interesting.
