"Red Cardinal And The Pod" by Debbie Oppermann. The Northern Red Cardinals are one of my very favorite songbirds. I absolutely love this image of the female Cardinal with a bean pod in it's beak and perched on the bean tree branch in fall in Guelph Ontario Canada. The bokeh and lighting enhance the subtle reddish brown plumage of this lovely female.
