"Tamarack Gold" by Debbie Oppermann. Each fall I eagerly anticipate the Tamarack/Larch tree in my front yard turning gold. It is stunning with it's bright gold needles or leaves. The Tamarack is a deciduous conifer. It is a conifer as it has needles and seed cones but it loses the needles in the fall unlike other conifers. It definitely takes center stage in my front yard when it is in it's full golden glory.
