This blue grouse male was out looking for a girlfriend when I happened along. I managed to crawl within 16 feet from him. He was starting to walk off when I decided to try a little trick. I have witnessed grouse pecking the ground quite hard when they are annoyed with something. So I picked up a small stone and tapped it on another small stone. That did it. This fellow instantly spun around, displayed his neck colours, spread his tail and came right after me. He kept coming until I couldn't focus the lens. He walked by me just a couple of feet away and headed on his way.
