I put out seeds in our bird feeder as I do most mornings. Within minutes, I heard all sorts of squalking. Upon inspection, I discovered a pair of sharpshin hawks were attacking the jays. I grabbed my camera and headed out to photograph the activity. The jays are a brave bird, usually facing off against the small hawks. This shot caught a hawk landing on the bird feeder and getting into a stare down with the squaking jay. They both flew off in different directions.
