The CornellLab of Ornithology lists the Rusty Blackbird as one of North America's most rapidly declining species. I think they are awesome though I admit I have not seen many until I recently encountered a small flock not far from Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador. I hope they return next year as they are a delight to watch and sightings are extra special for me considering their declining numbers.
