While paddling around Mew Lake in a canoe looking to photograph a loon, I saw a black duck with about 10 ducklings swimming near shore. As I approached them the ducklings swam towards me allowing a great close up of this on among the reeds. Canoeing through a marshy section of Lake Opeongo I was able to get within close proximity to a family of Canada geese. They spent a fair amount of time just swimming around and feeding on the plants. At one point the goslings all grouped together looking my way, with one of the parents on either side of them. I was ready and captured the moment.
