While photographing a variety of birds, including cardinals and chickadees, I was pleasantly greeted by this curious male nuthatch. He made his presence known with a loud song as he hopped vertically down the tree. After pausing on this branch for a brief moment, I was able to capture this beautiful portrait showcasing his powerful bill and feet.
