A young and energetic pine marten clings to the branch of a pine tree before quickly scampering down in search of food in nearby waste bins. I was lucky to get this beautiful portrait as pine martens are very quick mammals and are constantly scampering from tree to tree. Part of the wolverine and weasel family, pine martens will eat mostly small squirrels, birds, mice, and other small rodents.
