There's a tree close to my home, where a mother Raccoon has been coming back to each Spring for the past four years, to bring up her young family. Last Winter the tree became badly damaged in a storm and a large section lost from the top. I thought that would mean the end of the trees as a home for the mother. However late this Spring I was happy to see the family back once more, in a lower section. I took this image as the mother lay sleeping in the dark as her wide awake and very curious offspring started to explore the outside world.
