A curious Canada Jay perched on a campground tree this Winter in Algonquin Provincial park, Ontario
This Pileated Woodpecker was busy hunting for woodboring beetle larvae under the tree bark, I took this image at the moment her bill connected with the tree trunk
I was driving home on the backroads during a winter snow squall, it was hard to tell the ground from the sky, just a wall of white. I stopped the car and pulled over when I spotted this beautiful male snowy owl sitting peacefully on a bank of snow
I photographed this snapping turtle at the local marsh during the Summer, after helping it across the road. I got down to eye level and zoomed right into the face, I hadn't noticed until then just how amazing the colours, patterns and surface of these creatures are.
I watched this determined little mink push its way through the deep snow and across the ice as it hunted for food. I took this shot as the mink stopped at the waters edge, giving me a glance with its snow covered face
