I’ve always been terrified of bees (even the important and non-threatening kinds), but a very close-focusing telephoto lens on loan from Olympus helped me take steps to overcoming that fear through capturing them as art. I’m not completely fine with them yet, but it’s an unforeseen benefit to photography that I’m pretty happy about.
