While on a walk through a forest trail on a gray and wet afternoon, I came across this Barred Owl pretty close to the trail. After a couple of shots, it flew along a stream to another tree. I made my way through a shallow section and over some logs so I could get a view of it again, and caught it peeking out under some leaves from its new perch. I imagined it thinking, "If I can't see anything because of this leaf, nothing can see me!"
