While out on an early spring walk I came across this fly. It was quite inactive on the cold spring day, but it had fresh pollen on its sides, indicating it had been active. It rested on a beautiful dead flower head, and the brown spring background gave a warm backdrop to the scene. This is one of my favourite photos I have taken.
