In the greater Vancouver area we're fortunate to have these magnificent animals over winter here, and every wildlife photographer in the area knows exactly where this is and how lucky we are to have them visit each and every year
What an unexpected, random and amazing encounter this was to observe this Barred Owl taking a bath in an urban garden right in the middle of the city.
This encounter was an unexpected and amazing surprise. As I was out photographing birds, I heard a noise behind me, only to see this beautiful face staring back just before sunrise.
This is one of my favorite wildlife encounters and photos I took all year...the look on this sow Black Bear's face is priceless, with a face full of dandelions and a mouth full of clover she has that look as if she was caught with her hand in the cookie jar...these are without a doubt the moments I crave most as a natural world photographer
