Gray Jay in B&W

I took this on a super cold day in Algonquin Provincial Park. This Canada Jay had puffed out its feathers to keep warm. I loved it in monochrome.

On the Trail

I was on a trail when I met this young Black Bear. I spoke quietly and backed up to give her space. She had been foraging for nuts along the path. I left her in peace and she continued on.

Walking on Water

I saw this cool little Mink walking across the ice in a Toronto park. It kept checking to see if it was strong enough to hold him up! I love watching these cool animals!!

Loon Pair

This pair of Common Loons had a hard go of building a nest. This was try number three, as the other two got washed away by heavy rains. Just after this was taken, the Loons changed places on the nest! I had never witnessed that. I was sitting on the rocks behind a bush, as not to disturb them! I found out later that this nest was successful!

Got It!

I was watching some Cedar Waxwings in the trees. I was hoping to get an image of one eating a berry. My patience paid off when this one flew onto an open branch! They are such beautiful birds, they look like a painting.
